DP0002: LOG SET #1

After years of unsucessfully searching for a scale log that looked "right", I elected to make my own masters and cast them from resin. The logs come four to a package and require painting. Instructions are included on each package, but can also be seen by clicking HERE. Painting the logs is a matter of applying various washes, and is very easy to do. The logs in SET #1 weigh an average of 0.6-ounces each. The table, below, indicates the approximate size of the logs in this set for each scale. The photo shows the logs after painting. DP0005, DP0006, DP0010: RAGG'S MUGGs

(2009, 2010, 2011)

Ragg's Muggs started in 2009 with the first featuring Rio Grande Southern's #455 climbing Lizard Head Pass, as depicted by Herschel Scott of Railroad Art by Scotty, available in either a Midnight Black or a Hunter Green color scheme. The 2010 mug ("02" -- SOLD OUT ) is a Burgundy paint scheme featuring Bob Richardson's photo of RGS #20 taking on water at Bear Creek, Colorado, from the Denver Public Library's Western History Collection. The newest mug, the 2011 #03 is a Navy paint scheme and features the Rio Grande Southern's Rico Depot with #20 pulling in. The mugs will be available until the current supply is exhausted. These aren't run-of-the-mill coffee cups with a simple picture printed on them. They're heavy duty -- truly a railroader's mug. Custom made for us in America, each is individually hand thrown and kiln-fired. They're very, very durable: lead and cadmium free, microwave, dishwasher, oven and freezer safe. All mugs sport a "marbleized" rim. The medallion art is done using a special process developed by the potter and is extremely crisp and highly detailed -- you can read the Sunrise herald on the "01" mugs; see the engine crew at work on the Burgundy mugs; and see the Pro Patria Mill in the background of the Navy mug. DP0008: RACK & PINION

Made specially for our Maude Monroe mine kit by our friend John Socha-Leialoha, our Rack & Pinion detail is now available separately. Adaptable to HO, S, and O-scales, the set consists of two lengths of "rack" gears, two pinions, two pillow blocks, and a hand wheel. Each rack measures 0.07-inches wide and is 0.75-inches long. The handwheel is 0.25-inches in diameter. (1/$4.00)

DP0009: DOUBLE-SIDED STICKY TAPE

This is about the 5th generation of sticky tape we've used and the first we dare to offer as a separate item. It's STICKY stuff! The best use we've found for the stuff is to hold down corrugated siding on walls and roofs. It works. The roll measures 1/2-inch wide x 180-feet long. That should be enough to last you several years! (1 roll/$10)

DP0011: INGOTS

Here's another detail part that our friend John Socha-Leialoha developed just for us and they go great with our smelter kit. These ingots actually measure 0.35" long x 0.06" wide x 0.08" high, making them large for HO (used for common metals), average for S (common or precious metals), and small for O (used for precious metals). Each package contains 48 ingots in groups of four, making them easier to strack. They can also be broken apart and used individually. (12 groups of 4/$4)

From our Ridgway Depot kit, this chimney measures 0.33 x 0.25-inches at the base and stands 1.1-inches tall. We have a few left that are cast in metal, but are now making them from resin. ($4.00/package of TWO)

DP3015: SLAG CART

Another goodie from our friend John Socha-Leialoha. These slag sarts were used to transfer hot molten waste from a smelter's blast furnace to the slag dump. The waste cooled into what we like to call "waste buttons". The carts and buttons are a great detail for our smelter kit, where they often had 20 or 30 of them lined up, ready for service. They're injection molded with some assembly required. Each package includes two carts and 8 slag buttons. (2 carts, 8 buttons/$6)

Developed for our S-scale Depot Detail Set, this kit includes 32 laser-cut and injection molded parts and instructions. I believe it to be the most detailed baggage wagon available in S-scale. Place it in front of any depot to make the scene much more realistic and believeable. ($12.00 each)

To go along with our Dolores CONOCO Bulk Oil Plant, John Socha-Leialoha developed this retrofit kit for PBL's 1934 Ford Stake Body Truck (#MSA-103).
